The Gail valley
The Gail valley is an agricultural region, shaped by man, and which has, as a result, evolved in its own unique way. Special features include the acidic mossy meadow, the course of the river Gail and St Martin's Church, sitting high up on a rock and affording a fine view of the valley.
The inhabitants of this valley have been influenced, on the one hand, by this landscape and, on the other, by the influences of different cultures. German and sometimes Slovenian are spoken, but also many Romance-language elements are present in the vocabulary. Pay a visit to this magnificent part of the world and get to know the people of the Gail valley.
